Common Questions

1. How do you usually work with clients?

Heeyyy! Congratulations on booking a call with Sandra (Dr. H) 🙂 Only you know when you are ready to move on up into the next beautiful stage of your life. On our introductory call, we will get to know each other a bit. We will explore how you feel that your life is still being impacted by the sexual trauma/wounding which you have been through. I will be listening to your deepest fears and your need for release and transformation. This call is about setting you up for success. It is a time for you to share. This first call reminds you that you are enough, that you are worthy, that you carry all the power that you need within you.

We are worthy. Our voices are strong. We deserve to live the life we want to, to feel free and SAFE.

“Sexual trauma/wounding to liberation” will relieve self-doubt and self-criticism, restore your self-esteem and self-respect; Transform self-loathing into self-acceptance and self-love. And finally, help you set boundaries and walk from your own mental/emotional prisons into FREEDOM!

We will spend time dreaming, laughing and healing while we examine our self-talk, our self-worth, our mental and emotional pictures. We will speak our truth, rewrite our stories, give ourselves permission to truly live unafraid again.

I feel the pain of women who have been abused, who have been through sexual trauma. I see the hurt frustration and pent up anger that they hold inside; the striving to look like a “good girl” a “good wife”; the fear of seeming different. I am sorry that it happened to you. I understand it ‘cause I’ve been there. It doesn’t have to be that way. I know the fear.

I want to help women who have been sexually traumatized to feel safe, safe in their own skin. I want to help us become immune – bullet proof to the cat calls and the whistles, the sexual innuendos, the outright name calling and judgement that we have to traverse each day. You are strong, stronger than you know. It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened, we still feel the residual effects – like it’s in our blood, our DNA. We wrap a protective cloak around us that we think no one can see. But our pain comes out in how we treat and react to others – the mental, sometimes physical flinching when we are triggered by that scrap of memory, the pain we inflict on others. I would like to help us heal; to let go of the secret fear, shame and embarrassment, the holding ourselves back. We are worthy. Our voices are strong. We deserve to live the life we want to, to feel free and SAFE.

And so

“Sexual trauma/wounding to liberation”

Liberate Yourself: Clearing the effects of rape, sexual abuse and incest from your life
is a three month online coaching program inclusive of a personal one on one hypnotherapy session which will help you to release past trauma and move you to a place of healing freedom, forgiveness and confidence where you can stand empowered and safe.

2. What can I expect from the call?

I promise that

I will be listening to you and holding you safe as you explore your current challenges, fears and frustrations. I listen totally, deeply and without judgement. I give you strength. After working with so many women who have been traumatized and abused, I know the fear that can stop you from moving on with your life. If we feel safe enough to work with each other, then I will invite you into the program.

If not, you would have received clarity on the challenges in your life that are based on fear. You will leave the call with a renewed sense of hope and knowledge of how awesomely beautiful you are.

Healing from sexual trauma is very sensitive and can be a lonely experience. Let me help you.

3. Who is Sandra R Hamilton?

Sandra Hamilton began working with sexually traumatized girls and women when she was just a girl herself. In 1987, as a young school principal she encountered her first case of sexual abuse. It made her angry and frustrated. Why was the medical fraternity brushing this incident aside? It also brought to the fore her own rape.

She recalled,
“Sitting on that college bench, every one passed asking, “How are you doing?” Smiling, laughing, going about their daily business. No one saw. But for me, life had changed. Dramatically. I no longer felt that I belonged to that scenario. Happy. Fun loving. No. Now I was now unclean. I had been raped. Confident. outspoken Sandra drew into her shell. I gained weight; stopped doing the things I enjoyed – dancing, singing, modelling. I began to hate men. I became so small and bitter inside that it was hard to find the beautiful girl who had loved life. I was ashamed, depressed and suicidal.

Relationships were difficult. Many supervisors made me feel like I was abused all over again. I was afraid to stand up for myself… and that righteous anger turned outward and I focused on justice issues for women. I worked with the Women’s Centre, Crisis Centres, suicide help lines. I studied Gender and Development. I moved up the ranks in society. But still…. I was…. easily trigged by a scent, by fragments of memories.

Speaking at a nurses conference in 2014, Dr. H realized just how many of us professional, accomplished women still harboured fears of abuse and are still traumatized by our memories.

A certificated Rapid Transformational Therapist, Hypnotherapist, and Spiritual Director, Sandra is also an Educator, Life Coach and Suicide Counsellor. She now works with women 30 and over who’ve suffered sexual abuse, rape or incest to heal – overcome their abuse – and feel SAFE and confident in the world.
